About us
Mission Statement:
"To uplift, inform, and empower the LGBTQ+ community through authentic and impactful storytelling."

Social Film Projects II Inc. is a BIPOC-led U.S. organization dedicated to producing powerful social justice films, documentaries, and digital content that center LGBTQ+ voices. We believe that storytelling is a catalyst for change, one that challenges narratives, fosters empathy, and amplifies marginalized voices.
Our journey began with "TransMexico", a groundbreaking documentary chronicling the lives of three TransLatinas overcoming transphobia in Mexico. Seven years in the making, “TransMexico” is more than just a film,it is a movement. The documentary has been featured in eight prestigious film festivals, including Oscar-qualifying events, winning multiple awards such as the Audience Choice Award at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival (with over 100,000 attendees). Internationally, TransMexico premiered at the Guanajuato International Film Festival, expanding its global reach.
“TransMexico” has been featured in multiple prestigious festivals, including Oscar-qualifying events, and has won awards such as the Audience Choice Award at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival, Best Documentary at the NY Latino Film Festival, and Best Documentary Feature at the Chicago Women Film Institute.

Building on this success, we founded Social Film Projects II Inc. to continue telling untold LGBTQ+ stories and support filmmakers whose work deserves recognition but remains unseen due to lack of industry guidance and language barriers.
